A chunk of Watford has been left without power as an underground cable faulted.

UK Power Networks estimates the Cassiobury area will have its electricity restored by around 2pm to 3pm today , after the “unplanned power cut”. Apologising for any disruption, the electricity distribution network operator added that “we may be able to get some customers on sooner”.It said: “We believe the issue is an underground network fault that initially interrupted power to 4,525 properties.

“However, we have managed to divert power back to some properties, so 666 properties are still affected.”Impacted properties stretch roughly the length of Hempstead Road and it is affecting “multiple areas” around the road.
