Three arrested after 'violent' armed robbery involving cricket bat and bladed article
A group of men were attacked by a gang wielding a cricket bat and a bladed article during a terrifying robbery in Prestwich.
The group inside the parked car were assaulted and a robbery took place, a spokesman for GMP said. Officers attending the scene recovered cannisters of nitrous oxide nearby. Three men – two aged 18 and one aged 17 – were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. Witnesses who reported the incident believed weapons including a cricket bat and a bladed article were involved.
"Fortunately no one was seriously injured and I am pleased that quick work by Bury Response officers saw three males apprehended and arrested. The three remain in police custody at this time for questioning.
