BAGUIO CITY – Three friends died after the driver lost control of the car they were riding and bumped the railings while descending the flyover along Magsaysay Avenue, Baguio City, early Wednesday morning .The fatalities were identified as Cherry Lyn Sasa Monte, 24, resident of Padang, Pongayan, Kapangan, Benguet and driver of the ill-fated car; Rodel Polano, 18, resident of Bangao, Buguias and Fe Serafeno, 25, resident of Supang, Itogon, Benguet.
According to Col. Glenn Lonogan, city director of the Baguio City Police Office, the victims were coming from the direction of city proper at around 1:00 in the morning. The investigation revealed that while crossing the curve portion of the Magsaysay flyover, the vehicle suddenly veered in the opposite direction and hit the railings of the flyover.
Due to the strong impact, the vehicle continued to move and fell on the right side down the fly over.The two other passengers, Polnao and Serafeno, were immediately rushed by the responding Emergency Medical Services to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, but were declared dead on arrival.
