The pedestrians were struck by vehicles in Pine Valley, Oceanside and Spring Valley over a three-day period
Authorities have publicly identified three people who were fatally injured in crashes over a three-day period while walking through various San Diego County neighborhoods. The first of the three pedestrian deaths occurred about 11 a.m. Saturday, when a northbound Ford F-550 pickup truck veered off Pine Valley Boulevard near Rocky Pass and struck 61-year-old Mary Stewart of Pine Valley, according to the Medical Examiner's Office and California Highway Patrol.
the next day, an eastbound vehicle hit 21-year-old Armando Gutierrez of Escondido as he was crossing Oceanside Boulevard just west of College Boulevard with friends in Oceanside, officials said. An ambulance crew took Gutierrez to Tri-City Medical Center, where he died. About 10:55 p.m. Monday, 63-year-old Darryle Lawler was crossing state Route 94 near Old Campo Road in Spring Valley when an eastbound Audi sedan struck him, according to the medical examiner.
