Spring is just around the corner, but the potential for heavy storms is ramping up as we say goodbye to winter.
Thunderstorms started to develop over eastern parts of NSW on Monday - bringing wind, rain and hail to coastal areas - and the worst is yet to come.
Further south and to the west a cold front and trough are crossing into the southeast, bringing rain, gusty conditions, and storms with them. The stormg threat stretches from eastern Victoria into the eastern half of NSW and up to Queensland, east of Longreach and south of Mackay.Melbourne and Brisbane are forecast to cop the worst of an end-of-winter storm event heading for the southeastern capital cities .
