Three people were injured after a fight erupted between two groups in a parking lot near an Escondido movie theater on Saturday evening, police said. The incident, which was reported around 7:30 p.m., took place in the Signature Pavilion parking lot near the Regal Cinema theater on West Valley Parkway near Centre City Parkway, police said. All three victims were taken to the hospital. No arrests were made, police said.
NBC 7 San Diego reported that two groups got into a fight in the parking lot and that the victims were believed to be juveniles. Escondido police Lt. Ryan Hicks said police are investigating if the incident was gang-related. He said one youth suffered a stab wound to the chest while another had a stab wound to the arm. Both were considered minor injuries, and they were treated and released by a hospital.
