A blast from the past 🕺
quite compares to that of the 90s and early 00s. Whether it's because it was a golden age of dance music, a less expensive time to go out or the last time nights out were social media-free, the youth of that time consider themselves lucky to have had their dancing days fall during those years.
That time brings even more special memories for those who experienced it in Northern Ireland. 90s rave culture brought young people of all backgrounds together in ways sectarianism prevented many people of previous generations from doing before.In clubs and bars, young folks had the chance to focus on their similarities rather than differences. The friendships forged during that era played a pivotal role in bringing about the Northern Ireland we have today.
We decided to do some more digging around for throwback pics of nights out at various Northern Ireland haunts. After some sleuthing and some great contributions sent in by Belfast Live readers, we were able to put together another gallery of 90s-00s nightlife. Take a look below.
