The machete-wielder and his associates all appear to be in their teens or early adulthood.
Footage shows the moment a thug swings an 18-inch machete at a man in the centre of Bournemouth in a suspected gang confrontation.
Having narrowly escaped injury, the man runs off – but was stopped by police officers minutes later and found to be in possession of a penknife. He has since been released without charge. A local business owner, wishing to remain anonymous, said: ‘There are some big gangs that roam around at night in Bournemouth at the moment. It is horrendous.
‘It is reported that the man ran off toward the gardens, before being detained in the town centre by officers.
