GMP have issued an update after chaos ensued in Oldham town centre
Thugs who chased each other after a crash in Oldham were brandishing machetes and bats it has now been revealed. It happened on Yorkshire Street in the town centre yesterday evening .
The force has now confirmed that witnesses identified the weapons they were carrying as being machetes and bats. They also confirmed no arrests have yet been made in connection with the incident.As the chaos unfolded, GMP received a number of calls from horrified members of the public. Armed officers were among those who responded with a cordon being put in place on both Yorkshire Street and Horsedge Street for several hours.
"The occupants of both cars exited their vehicles and officers believed they chased each other on foot brandishing weapons. Specialist officers have been deployed to the area to conduct initial enquiries.
