A 'small but severe' thunderstorm has dumped a huge amount of hail on Newcastle and the NSW Central Coast. 9News MORE:
The storms have since weakened as they move north, however a severe weather warning for hail and heavy rain remains in place for the region just north of Newcastle.
"Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours," the BoM said."Locations which may be affected include Forster, Seal Rocks, Bulahdelah, Nelson Bay and Dungog."to receive our daily newsletters and breaking news alerts, sent straight to your inbox.

Firefighter back on duty after minor injury: NSW Fire and Rescue SuperintendentNSW Fire and Rescue Superintendent Adam Dewberry has commended the resilience and dedication of his team following a recent fire incident in Sydney's CBD. 'I'm not surprised none of our firefighters suffered serious injuries; they work well, they know their job, they do it well, they work in a safe manner,' He told Sky News Australia. 'That firefighter had a minor burn, but he was back on the fire ground not long after. 'I saw him in the ambulance just getting that precautionary assessment, then I saw him back out on the fire ground doing the firefighting operations.'
