An excessive heat warning will be in effect east of Interstate 15 until 8 p.m. Monday. Seasonal temperatures likely won’t return until Wednesday.
Thursday was the hottest day San Diego County has experienced in four years —and the heat wave won’t break before Monday, and perhaps Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
Forecasters said the county experienced a heat wave on Sept. 5 and 6 of 2020 that sent temperatures soaring across most of the county rather than in a handful of areas.
