Hollie Hanson, a 26-year-old from Knottingley, was sentenced to four years in prison for a campaign of terrifying abuse against their partner. Hanson, who had over 25,000 TikTok followers, hid the abuse behind a facade of a healthy relationship, posting loving photos and videos online. But behind the scenes, Hanson subjected their victim to controlling behavior, including tracking their location, banning them from having a phone, and hitting them with a vodka bottle. The abuse culminated in Hanson strangling their victim and threatening to kill them before attacking a male friend.
To thousands of fans scrolling on their phones, a Yorkshire couple's relationship seemed just like any other healthy partnership. But the reels and posts hid the sinister truth - a relationship of vicious abuse and power.
Hanson and the victim, who Yorkshire Live have not named, were said to have been in a relationship for four years. Hanson often posted about their relationship on TikTok. Photos included the couple embracing each other lovingly and visiting tourist destinations together. Hanson attacked their partner after getting jealous of the victim's relationship with someone else. Hanson strangled the victim and then attacked the man they were jealous of by strangling him with his chain.
