TikToker Harrison Gilks has sadly died aged 18, less than a year on from doctors telling the teen that his cancer had become untreatable, despite previously being in remission

Harrison was sadly diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma – a rare type of soft tissue cancer – in November 2020, but received the happy news that he was in remission in February last year.

Announcing the news of his passing, Harrison’s heartbroken mum said in a statement, as per The Sun: “His smile could light up a room, his laugh could cheer anyone up."He always found good in every situation and touched the lives of many with his messages of hope and encouragement through his TikTok videos, where he chronicled and shared his journey with cancer with the world."

Harrison boasted over 318,000 TikTok followers and used the video sharing site to document his cancer journey. "I'm gonna go out and do a bunch of stuff that I've always wanted to do, maybe skydiving, stuff along those lines." "I'll be in the hospital for the remainder of whatever time I have left. It's obviously very upsetting.”
