A TikToker's visit to the world's largest Lidl supermarket in Prague left him with a mixture of amazement and disgust. Carmie Sellitto, who boasts 732k followers, documented his experience, highlighting the store's impressive four-floor layout, vast selection of food, and particularly, its unique bakery offerings. However, he also shared his encounter with some unusual and unsettling food items, describing them as 'weird' and 'sickening'. The store's peculiar security measure requiring receipt checks at exit added to the overall unconventional experience.
The UK's leading supermarkets are constantly vying for the title of cheapest or best for customers. Most shoppers have their preferred chain and their opinion on what provides the best selection or customer service. But what about the size and spaciousness of these supermarkets? We all know the feeling of grappling with another customer for the last pint of milk or trying to snatch the last loaf of bread after a long day.
One TikToker, whose go-to store is Lidl, decided to visit the largest Lidl in the world 'to see if it was worth the hype' - and what he found ranged from 'weird' to 'sickening'. 'I went to the biggest Lidl in the world,' the TikToker, who goes by Carmie Sellitto on TikTok, told his 732k followers. 'I don't even need to tell you guys where this place is located as it's already gone so viral online.' There was some debate in the comment section about the exact location, though. However, the majority of comments pointed to the store being situated in the city center of Prague. Describing what he saw, the content creator explained: 'This supermarket is so big. It has four floors. It took me ages to walk around but it was definitely worth it. The selection of food they have in here is actually crazy. 'They had so many sushi options and obviously that's my favourite but I was actually only looking for one thing - that was the bakery. I feel like Lidl is known for their bakery. Not only is it super cheap, but it's also really tasty.' Moving on to the weird and wonderful, the influencer continued: 'There were so many options but there were also so many weird foods I had never seen before. I think it's because it's the biggest Lidl in the world so they can just add these extras on.' Gesturing to a bizarre-looking pastry, Carmie asked: 'Like, what was that? I literally felt sick looking at it.' He added: 'I also found the reduced section and had never seen any of these items before. I found it really weird but I liked it.' On the way out, Carmie revealed that you have to check your receipt in a machine 'otherwise you can't leave' - another peculiar addition to the store. But what was the overall verdict on this massive building? 'I would say it's definitely worth the hype,' Carmie confirmed
