One of the most pivotal games of the group stage of the All-Ireland SFC takes place on Saturday evening with the meeting of northern powerhouses Tyrone and Donegal. The Ulster giants ar set to clash for the second time in four weeks. This time, Donegal are the defending Ulster champions and have home advantage.
With the Anglo Celt Cup safely tucked away, Jim McGuinness’s side turn their attention to the biggest prize of them all in the Sam Maguire and are the top-ranked team in Group Three. They play their opening game at home against third seeds Tyrone. Both teams will fancy their chances of progressing to the knockout stages, but they’ll both be keen to top the group and avoid the extra game of the preliminary quarter-final. It took extra-time to separate the teams in the Ulster SFC semi-final at Celtic Park before Donegal went on to defeat Armagh on penalties in the final. The Red Hands received a boost at the weekend as their U20s won the All-Ireland title with an impressive win over Kerry and a few of Paul Devlin’s squad could be called up to the senior ranks, albeit this weekend’s game will probably come too quickly.When and where is the game?
