In the second part of his weekly ECHO column, Michael Ball analyses Farhad Moshiri's proposed sale of Everton to 777 Partners
While Kevin Thelwell had to scrounge around all summer to get deals over the line because of financial restraints, our current owner said he didn't want to sell the football club, and that he was only looking for investment. But did anyone believe that? I certainly didn't. Everything he has said the opposite has happened.
But they are a young company that haven't been around for many years. When it first broke I was like, 'right, it is what it is', and we've been there before with takeovers where they can lift the club and the players. It is a concern that you see other fans from the other teams they have a stake in, such as Hertha Berlin and Standard Liege, making protests about them, so I'm very conflicted.
