Rod Stewart has paid tribute to 'friend and mentor' Tina Turner following her passing

The Maggie May singer paid his respects to the singer who's hits including Proud Mary and The Best with the 78-year-old calling her a "friend and mentor" describing his heavy heart following the news. Taking to Instagram alongside the photo of the late singer, Rod captioned his post: " I’m devastated, what a women! A friend and mentor - ‘It takes two’ - but there was only one Tina Turner."

Paying tribute to the American-Swiss singer, who was born Anna Mae Bullock in Nutbush, Tennessee, celebrities among the first to pay tribute were Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John, Diana Ross, Bette Midler and Giorgio Armani.
