There is absolutely no sign of them in TV guides this week, as instead, the broadcaster prioritises live sporting action
Fans of Tipping Point and The Chase are up in arms as ITV has 'cancelled' the two popular shows this week, making room for sports coverage instead.
These programmes, hosted by Ben Shephard and Bradley Walsh respectively, have been a mainstay of ITV's afternoon/early evening schedule for years, typically airing back-to-back at 4pm and 5pm on weekdays. However, there's no trace of them in this week's TV guides, as the broadcaster prioritises live sporting events.
In the coming weeks, both BBC1 and ITV1's schedules will be dominated by Euro 2024, especially this week and next with all the group games to cover. While BBC has moved many of their popular shows, such as The One Show and EastEnders, to BBC2, ITV has completely removed shows from the air, ChronicleLive reports. In addition to the Euros, Royal Ascot is also being broadcast on ITV this week.
One disgruntled viewer took to X to vent their frustrations, writing: "I'm missing "Tipping point" and "The Chase" more than I'm enjoying the Euros". Another, lamenting the impending cancellation, wrote: "It's the last week of both #TippingPoint and #TheChase before the schedules get f**ked over for Euro 2024".
