A SCOTTISH island music festival has announced its “determined” return after extreme weather forced its cancellation last year.
Festivalgoers who took the ferry to the island were told to make their way to Tiree’s An Talla community centre and more than 100 people had to shelter overnight.A total of 25 acts confirmed for the 2023 edition of the festival will return this year, including indie-folk band Tide Lines, homegrown chart-topping talent Skerryvore as well as Ireland’s leading country singer Nathan Carter, who is a new addition.
Artistic director for the festival Daniel Gillespie said: “It gives us a real sense of pride that we have been able to confirm so many artists due to play at last year’s festival for our 2024 edition. “We’re especially excited to welcome Nathan Carter as one of our headliners and just know he will get the Tiree crowds going.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
