Each recruitment and retention move made by the Gold Coast Titans seems to point to one thing – a determination to deliver premiership success by 2026.
The club announced a trio of contract extensions on Monday night – revealing hooker Sam Verrills, prop Jaimin Jolliffe and back-up hooker Chris Randall had inked deals for another three seasons. They joined Jayden Campbell, David Fifita, Keano Kini, AJ Brimson, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, Beau Fermor and Alofiana Khan-Pereira as players to sign until the end of 2026, while incoming coach Des Hasler will also take the reins following Justin Holbrook’s shock axing.
Speaking after news broke of Holbrook’s release, club CEO Steve Mitchell said he believed the playing roster and off-field building blocks for success were in place. However he said a piece was missing to take them to a title, and the decision to bring in Hasler could be the catalyst.Advertisement“We’ve done a lot of review over the last 18 months in specific areas of the program. We look at our roster, look at our high-performance areas, look at the way we’re resourcing internally.
