TNT intends to stay in the NBA game once its current contract with the league expires after this season.Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of TNT, announced it has exercised a clause in its contract with the NBA to match one of the four bids for broadcast rights beginning after next season.According to The Athletic, which cited sources briefed on the move, the network is targeting the 11-year package signed by Amazon Prime Video.
Regrettably, the league notified us of its intention to accept other offers for the games in our current rights package, leaving us to proceed under the matching rights provision, which is an integral part of our current agreement and the rights we have paid for under it. We have reviewed the offers and matched one of them.
