Far-right activist Tommy Robinson was seen outside Folkestone Police Station
Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has been pictured outside a police station after being reportedly told to hand himself in.
"I can't see him being arrested over the weekend, partly because there's always far fewer staff to do all that. " Discussing the contempt of court allegations, the anti-fascist campaigner said: " are trying to set the arrest warrant aside to ensure he can turn up at the demonstration on Saturday. In July 2021, Syrian teenager Jamal Hijazi was awarded £100,000 in damages following a significant defamation case. It was ruled that Robinson, the founder of the English Defence League, had spread false allegations about him. A judge instructed Robinson not to repeat the claims, but it is alleged he included them in a film, first distributed online last year. In June, Robinson was summoned to the High Court to answer the allegation that he had disregarded the judge's order.
Robinson has been accused of stoking the fires during the riots that took place in July and August, with critics suggesting that conspiracy theories allegedly promoted on his social media channels fuelled the unrest. He returned to the UK on Sunday night, landing at Luton Airport, after telling his followers he anticipated being arrested upon arrival due to an arrest warrant related to a contempt case.
