A classic baby name has retained its title of the most popular name of the past year for New South Wales.
Despite Liam and Levi being two of the most popular baby names in 2021, they both dropped out of this year’s top 10.Jack has regained its popularity for several years, placing sixth in the list.The lists form part of the NSW government’s top 100 girls and boys baby names which is released every year.There were more than 6,000 fewer babies registered in NSW in 2022 than the year before.
Parents however, have 60 days to register their new bundles of joy, meaning that some December babies are yet to be recorded.
