Whispering Pines Golf Club routinely closes to ensure it remains in pristine condition. But there is nothing routine about the closure it's dealing with now.
‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ said Chris Rowe, director of golf for the course on Lake Livingston near Trinity.
Thankfully, there have been no injuries at the club associated with the flood, but the chef who lives on property had to be evacuated from his residence. “Our teams are aggressively moving forward in the clean-up process while we wait for water levels to recede,” Chapman wrote in his letter. “It is only after this occurs that we will be able to accurately assess the full amount of damage that we have incurred.”
