The University of Nottingham was awarded Sports University of the Year for the third time too
Both of Nottingham's universities are in the top ten in the Midlands with one winning an award as part of the Good University Guide 2024. The University of Nottingham has been named as the fourth best in the Midlands and 32nd in the nation by The Times and The Sunday Times' newly released Good University Guide 2024, with Nottingham Trent University coming eighth in the region and 43rd in the UK.
The key findings of the guide were that applications to study computer science including AI, video game design and robotics were almost 10 per cent higher than last year, according to analysis of Ucas data, and 31 per cent higher than in 2019. There was also a rise in joint honours and interdisciplinary work "collaborating on solving the world’s future problems from climate change to health", the Good University Guide 2024 says.
