Glasgow (pictured), among other cities in Scotland and the North West of England dominate the First Time Buyer Appeal Index compiled by Aldermore.
Glasgow is the best location to get on the property ladder, an analysis of 50 cities across the UK concludes.
Glasgow claimed the top spot with an average price tag of £158,310 for a first-time property in the city — well below the national average. Edinburgh fell from fifth to tenth place in a year as the average amount needed for a deposit has risen to £67,224 — compared with £32,385 in Glasgow.
