The toddler's frail, malnourished body scarcely twitched as she lay helplessly in an incubator chamber in the already-decimated Gaza hospital.

Türk told the BBC: 'All of my humanitarian colleagues keep telling us that there is a lot of red tape. There are obstacles. There are hindrances… Israel is to blame in a significant way. In the meantime, Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu has promised to carry on with his vicious bombardment of the Gaza Strip in order to defeat Hamas, forcing civilians to travel further and further south in the tiny enclave.
