Designer ToryBurch channels the love child of Little Women's Jo March and Mr Darcy for AW20
turned her focus to art. Burch looked to Francesca DiMattio’s anthropomorphic sculptures that challenge traditional modes of femininity, proving there's strength and power in decoration. DiMattio even designed the graphic prints that electrified Burch's playful re-interpretation of gender codes. The maximalist, exuberant prints ranged from painterly florals to abstract takes on Svres porcelain.
Sumptuous velvet came up against cotton jaquard and twists of organza transformed powdery knitwear into delectable balls of cotton candy. While Trapunto stitching, smocking and sunburst pleats refined suiting and kept prairie dresses lighthearted and modern.If Little Women's Jo March had a love child with Pride and Prejudice's Mr Darcy, they would wear Tory Burch's AW20 collection.
