Tory Lanez has filed a complaint against Megan Thee Stallion, alleging she is using the justice system to silence him after he was convicted of shooting her in 2020.
Tory Lanez has accused Megan Thee Stallion of 'weaponizing the justice system' in a new complaint. Lanez, 32, filed the court documents a little over one week after the rapper, 29, requested a temporary restraining order against him. Last year, Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of shooting Megan in the feet during a drunken argument in 2020.
Megan alleged that Lanez has been 'coordinating' with bloggers to spread false lies about her online, but Lanez has since slammed the harassment claims as 'ridiculous.' In his complaint, Lanez alleged that Megan 'improperly decided to use the Los Angeles County civil court to file a frivolous request for civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had zero direct contact with Ms. Pete.' Lanez further claimed that Megan 'failing to understand that they are public figures, who voluntarily catapulted themselves into the limelight, unable to deal with the controversy and public opinions.' He cited the California Code of Civil Procedure S. 527, which 'prohibits courts from issuing restraining orders that restrict constitutionally protected speech. The statute ensures restraining orders are only issued when there is a credible threat of violence or harassment, not for mere disagreement.'
