MP for South Thanet Craig Mackinlay said he is 'extremely lucky to be alive' after contracting the life-threatening condition in SeptemberFreelance reporter and late editorA Tory MP has spoken out for this first time after losing both his hands and feet to sepsis.
Mr Mackinlay said when he woke from an induced coma in November he had completely black limbs due to the clots and lack of circulation. Mr Mackinlay, who is due to return to the Commons for the first time since his heath scare this week, discussed his brush with death with GB News, saying: “It went completely black – they looked like pharaohs arms, sort of dug out of the desert.“My wife was told that they rarely see people with this amount of illness in the hospital and to perhaps prepare for the worst.“Your socks are your feet and your gloves are your hands.
