The 36-year-old only took charge of 84 matches for Bayern having been relieved of his duties on March 24. Bayern technically did not sack Nagelsmann, instead putting him on gardening leave, meaning a club would have to pay a compensation fee – believed to be around £10million – should they wish to appoint him before the end of the 22/23 campaign.
Despite Kane’s uncertain future and the lack of Champions League football, Nagelsmann appears to be keen to take on the job. ‘Spurs are insisting there is not a No 1 candidate, but it is clear Naglesmann is major contender for the job.
