The authors of a new report examining the lives of girls in the UK have called for radical change to improve lives
Knowsley is one of the worst places to be a girl, according to a new report. Data shows girls in Knowsley face the fifth toughest conditions in the whole UK including poor health outcomes and reduced life expectancy.
The charity rated East Dunbartonshire as the safest local authority area for girls with North East Lincolnshire ranked as the toughest community for girls to live in. However, Knowsley is ranked the fifth hardest place for girls to live in the whole UK.
“They are angry and frustrated with the state of equality and face huge pressure to meet the standards society expects of them. Girls and young women often don’t feel safe in public, they do not feel listened to by people in power, and they are frustrated at not being able to make their own choices in life.
