Oscar winner Octavia Spencer has officially signed on to join the Tow cast for the upcoming Rose Byrne-led biographical drama.
Character details about Spencer’s role remained under wraps. This project reunites Spencer and Byrne, after previously starring together in 2018’s family comedy film Instant Family. They will also be joined by previously announced cast members Ariana DeBose, Dominic Sessa and Demi Lovato. Production is currently underway.
“Tow will follow the true story of Amanda Ogle , an unhoused Seattle woman who fought her way out of tow-company hell to reclaim her life and the car that held it all together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634,” reads the synopsis.Tow is being directed and produced by Stephanie Laing from a screenplay written by Jonathan Keasey, Brant Boivin, and Annie Weisman. This marks Laing’s feature directorial debut.
