Shoppers in Netherfield say they've 'been waiting' for a discount shop like Heron Foods to open in the town. The new shop in Victoria Road opened for the first time on Thursday .
John said: “Where else can you get a trolley full for £20?” While Angela added: “I’m quite happy, usually I have to go to the Heron in Bilborough when I visit my mum but this is more convenient. I’ve been saying for years ‘we could do with a Heron'.’” The chain, which is owned by B&M and has more than 300 stores across the UK, said all of its 23 full-time and part-time positions had already been filled at the new shop.
Heron Foods area manager Stacey Marks said: “What we certainly can offer is good quality products for cheaper than Co-op and Nisa who are our competitors. How our business works is to get to the best deals with us, you need to shop with us regularly.
