Four chefs from the Philippines won big at the eighth edition of The Best Chef Awards , which ran from November 4 to 6 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.These are chefs Jordy Navarra of Toyo Eatery; Chele Gonzalez of Gallery by Chele; Stephan Duhesme of Metiz; and Johanne Siy of Singapore-based Lolla.Chef Jordy was among the 177 chefs who were recognized with Two Knives by The Best Chef 2024.
The chef, who grew up in Dagupan, Pangasinan, was named Asia's Best Female Chef 2023 by Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. She is the first Singapore-based chef to win the award and only the second Filipino, next to chef Margarita Forés.This year's The Best Chef Awards recognized a total of 550 chefs from 61 countries.Three outstanding chefs emerged as the very best at the event, with chef Rasmus Munk of Denmark's Alchemist named in First Place.
