Trade minister Conor Burns sacked from government
Trade minister Conor Burns has been sacked from the government after a complaint of serious misconduct.
"The prime minister took direct action on being informed of this allegation and is clear that all ministers should maintain the high standards of behaviour - as the public rightly expects." The LGBT+ Conservatives have suspended Mr Burns as a patron "pending the conclusion of investigations".Conor Burns - seen as a key ally of Boris Johnson - had been a trade minister for exactly one month but now he's out of government. But Liz Truss clearly wants to be seen to be acting quickly against allegations of impropriety. Remember her predecessor Boris Johnson was criticised for taking too long to respond to allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
