The incident caused long queues in the area
There was traffic chaos in one part of Merseyside after a bus became stuck under a bridge. Emergency services were called to Green Lane in Tranmere at 6.12am today, Tuesday, August 6. When Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police arrived at the scene, they found a Stagecoach double decker bus trapped under a disused railway bridge. The incident caused long traffic queues in the area.
A spokesperson for the fire service said a multi-agency meeting took place between MFRS, Merseyside Police and Stagecoach to devise a plan to remove the bus. The bus was removed from under the bridge and a structural engineer was organised to assess the bridge. Firefighters cleared away debris and left the scene at 8.22am. Stagecoach were approached for comment. For the latest news and breaking news visit liverpoolecho.co.uk/news .
