Drivers should expect traffic delays on State Route 79 in both directions.Due to construction at the SR-79 and SR-287 intersection in Florence , the Pinal County Sheriff's Office recommends drivers traveling from the west to take the following detours:
If coming from the Casa Grande area, motorists should turn south on Valley Farms Road from SR-287, then turn east onto Cactus Forest Road, and then turn north onto SR-79 and continue to Florence. If coming from the Coolidge area, motorists should travel east on Cactus Forest Road from Valley Farms Road or Coolidge Avenue, then turn north onto SR-79 and continue to Florence.
PCSO said speeds will be reduced at the Cactus Forest and SR-79 intersection. Festival attendees can text"CT2024" to 65513 and they will receive emergency messages during Country Thunder. The festival is April 11-14.
