Chaos erupted at the Trafford Centre on Monday as a combination of holiday shoppers and football fans led to severe traffic congestion. Drivers were reportedly stranded in car parks and on nearby roads for several hours, with some reporting scuffles and frustrated motorists. Trafford Centre bosses attributed the gridlock to a 'perfect storm' of events, citing the high number of Manchester United fans traveling to the Old Trafford stadium for a match against Newcastle as a major contributing factor.
