Tragic news this afternoon
Merseyrail said that a person was hit by a train in the Aughton Park area at around 11.40am today . No information has been confirmed about the person’s condition.
The incident led to brief disruption on Merseyrail services between Ormskirk and Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, with trains briefly not running beyond Aughton Park. A spokesperson said: "Due to reports of a person being struck by a train the following services have been amended: 1216 Liverpool Central will start at Walton at 1228. 1134 Ormskirk - Liverpool Central has terminated at Aughton Park"Merseyrail says services have since resumed to normal.
