Police said the dog was not classed as a dangerous breed and was removed from the home the same day and humanely destroyed
Emergency services rushed to Shorncliffe Road in Coventry after the horror unfolded at around 3pm on Sunday afternoon . The tot was rushed to hospital with severe head injuries but despite the efforts of medics she died a short time after.
"A seven-month-old baby girl had received serious injuries to her head after being bitten by the family’s dog inside the home. She received treatment at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital for further treatment. "The pet dog, which isn’t classed as a dangerous breed, was removed from the home on Sunday and humanely destroyed. We are in the early stages of our investigation and our enquiries are continuing.
