A woman in her 20s has died after police and the air ambulance were called to reports of a concern for welfare.
Emergency services rushed to the incident in Atherton shortly before 11.30am on Wednesday . North West Ambulance Service said it attended an address on Oxford Road but didn't take the patient to hospital. Police officers arrived at the scene at around 11.40am and the young woman was pronounced dead shortly after. The force said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances around her death, but police enquiries are continuing.A spokesperson said: "At around 11.40am today , we responded to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman on Oxford Road, Atherton. Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a woman in her 20s was pronounced dead shortly after.
