A body has been recovered from the River Dee near Aberdeen Boat Club, and while formal identification is pending, the family of missing twin Henrietta Huszti has been informed. The search for her sister Eliza continues.
The disappearance of twin sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti from Aberdeen has taken a tragic turn. A body was discovered in the River Dee near the Queen Elizabeth Bridge on Thursday, January 10th. While formal identification is pending, Henrietta's family has been informed. The search for her sister Eliza continues. The sisters, both 32, vanished from Aberdeen on Tuesday, January 7th. Their last known sighting was at around 2.12 am on Market Street, near Victoria Bridge over the River Dee.
Police received a concerning text message from Henrietta at 2.12 am on January 7th, stating they wouldn't be returning. This was followed by the phone being switched off. Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit, along with specialist officers, are conducting extensive searches of the river and its banks between the Queen Elizabeth Bridge and Victoria Bridge. Superintendent David Howieson stated that their priority remains finding both sisters and that nothing from their inquiries suggests either sister left the immediate area after their last sighting. There are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding the case. The sisters, originally from Hungary, arrived in the UK six years ago and had been working in Aberdeen. Their landlady reported their absence due to concern, as all their possessions were left behind in their flat. Their brother Joszef revealed that the family was unaware of their decision to move out, despite speaking to them in the days and weeks leading up to their disappearance. He stated everything seemed normal during their conversations
