A man who tragically died while participating in this year's Great North Run has been named as Sam Wealleans.
The race was halted due to the incident, which took place near the end of the 13.1-mile course. His family is receiving support during this difficult time.A representative from the Great Run Company expressed their condolences: "All at the Great Run Company are deeply saddened by Sam's passing. We are continuing to support Sam's close family during this incredibly difficult time, and our thoughts and sympathies are with all those who loved and knew him.
