Banton was ice cold from three-point range on Sunday—historically so, as he shot an abysmal 0-for-15 from beyond the arc. No player in NBA history has attempted as many threes without making a single one during a game. To make matters worse, Banton wound up getting ejected during the fourth quarter, marking an unspectacular end to a historically disastrous night for the 24-year-old.Banton ended the game with 17 points on 6-of-26 shooting–including the historic 0-for-15 from deep–while adding seven assists and three rebounds. He recorded a plus/minus of minus-38 during Portland's 121–82 loss.
Banton's been taking an extremely high volume of shots over the last two games, chucking up a total of 52 attempts during that span. He made just 15 field goals and shot 2-for-25 from three-point range, unable to find his shooting touch from outside. The Trail Blazers ended the season on a five-game losing streak, having also lost 15 of their last 17 games to close out a 21–61 campaign.
