Sneakrverse on Bridlesmith Gate opened in April 2021

A Nottingham city centre shop which was launched by a teenager has closed after two years of trading. Sneakrverse on Bridlesmith Gate, which opened in April 2021, closed in recent weeks according to workers from neighbouring shops.

The store, located on the trendy street full of clothing boutiques, was the first and only store operated by Lashon James, who was just 19 years old at the time. The St Ann's teen had set up the shop after having success reselling rare trainers for a profit, following in the footsteps of some of his friends.

Lashon, who was a first-year business and economics student at Nottingham Trent University when he set up Sneakrverse, now seems to only be trading online. While the Sneakrverse branding has been removed from the shopfront and the inside stripped bare, a new sign has been put up stating OFFSeason will be taking over the unit. The brand, which describes itself as a "sneaker and luxury garments store", also has branches in Leicester and Loughborough.

The shop is listed as moving stores on the Sneakrverse Instagram page, with the link to the online store currently unavailable.
