Man Utd might not be quite so terrified of talking to Daniel Levy after the intervention of Tottenham’s owner. Also: Kylian Mbappe might have found a solution in Saudi…Daniel Levy has played it very cool so far this summer over Harry Kane’s future. The Tottenham chairman has refused to tell Bayern Munich his magic number for sanctioning the sale of his club’s greatest goalscorer. But it seems Levy has now lost control of the situation somewhat.
Widespread reports on Monday morning suggest Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told Levy to take action. Apparently, Lewis is not prepared to watch Kane walk away for nothing next year so if the striker cannot be persuaded to sign a new contract, then he must be sold this summer. Kane is refusing to put pen to paper so the situation seems to be coming to a head. Which is good news forThe Red Devils seem to have been too scared to even pick up the phone to Levy but thesuggests Lewis’s intervention might help them to grow a pair. But they would have to increase their valuation since they deem Kane, a year from free-agency, to be worth £70million – less than Bayern’s last offer that was rejected by Spurs.
Bayern are also offering Kane, 29, a contract for four or perhaps even five years, say Bid. Which may explain rumours of Mrs Kane’s house-hunting trip to Bavaria.Kylian Mbappe is in a very similar situation to Kane. The France star is a year from the end of his contract and PSG are loathe to lose him for nothing 12 months down the line. He too won’t sign a new contract soWhich probably complicates Mbappe’s plan somewhat.
