Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Writer/artist Daniel Warren Johnson has a new comic coming in September from Image Comics, and the legendary creator will be bringing fellow artist Riley Rossmo along with him for the all-new creator-owned series The Moon Is Following Us. Johnson has been busy with Skybound’s incredibly successful Transformers relaunch over the last year, so it’s exciting to see the Eisner Award-winning creator launch an all-new property.
The story of two parents journeying into the unknown to rescue their daughter sounds ripe with potential for creators like Johnson and Rossmo. The added wrinkle of both parents getting help from their daughter’s “magical” friends also sounds intriguing, and a way for the new series to stand out from other sci-fi/fantasy comics out there.
writer Daniel Warren Johnson has made a name for himself in crafting comics that combine genre thrills with deeply-emotional themes. Riley Rossmo’s bouncy, cartoony style also looks like an excellent fit for the action-packed Image Comics story being told. The incredibly versatile artist first made a name for himself on projects like Cowboy Ninja Viking and Green Wake, and has since gone on to be one of DC Comics’ top artists, working on characters such as Batman, Constantine and the recent Sandman series.
