Created in the '80s as a toy line by Hasbro, the "robots in disguise" eventually spawned an animated series, 1984's The Transformers, and a film, 1986's aptly titled The Transformers: The Movie.
The robots-from-space origin story unfolds on Cybertron, the planet from which Optimus Prime , Megatron , and the other Transformers hail. Perhaps most excitingly, Transformers One's story will let audiences see the friendship between Optimus Prime and Megatron, making their eventual shift into fierce enemies all the more compelling.
Why Elita One Never Appeared In Michael Bay's Transformers Movies As far as audiences know, Michael Bay and his team never considered adding Elita One to the live-action Transformers movies. Given the original 2007 installment's massive budget, Bay was tasked with making Transformers appeal to a broader, more mainstream audience.
There are several types of Transformers the movies are still missing since Bay's series had to hone in on just a few key players. Not to mention, the films spend a good chunk of time with the human characters, too. Since Elita One is generally relegated to leading a battalion of other female-coded Autobots on Cybertron, it likely didn't feel like there was a canonical, natural way to introduce the character to the movies' storyline.
