Some fares will rise by up to 10%
The majority of passengers on Translink services in Northern Ireland will see fares rise in June - and Belfast Live readers in our comments section aren't happy with the latest hit to their wallets in our comments section. Fares on Metro, NI Railways, and Ulsterbus will be revised following a decision by the Department for Infrastructure.
"Combined with the many wider health and wellbeing benefits of sustainable travel, it’s also an easy way we can all do our bit for the climate crisis and improve air quality for a better-connected society for all." Geb67 wrote: "I was waiting for this, a posh new station, they had to make us pay for it. It's only encouraging car users to stay in their cars. They don't stop to think of us, the passengers, who are facing constant price hikes and wages aren't increasing."
Toyota said: "Wages go up fares go up. Translink cannot stand alone although it has really no competition."
